Colour Trends 2016
Dulux has recently announced its Colour of the Year 2016 ‘Cherished Gold‘, carrying the trend for earthy tones into next year. This versatile yellow ochre – a colour long used by artists as the basis of flesh tones – will work well with duck egg blue and complement pastel shades. Understated with a period colour feel, ‘Cherished Gold’ will add warmth to any room, acting as a perfect blank canvas or feature colour in a modern or traditional home interior.
Colour trends 2016 will continue to embrace the current trend for metallics and look great with this new golden colour in the home, offering the perfect backdrop for teal or charcoal grey painted kitchen units featuring brass details such as hinges, handles, and taps!
We’ve found some useful decorating inspiration from Livingetc on how to use yellow ochre in your interior colour scheme House to Home.
Houzz featured an article by Samantha Schoech in 2012 – apparently yellow ochre is “said to stimulate appetite and is associated with food. Perfect for the kitchen.”
